Khudafarin hydroelectric power station is a 102 MW hydroelectric facility located in Iran, operated by Azerenerji since its commissioning in 1988. This plant generates electricity from water resources, contributing to Iran's hydroelectric power generation capacity. It is the 38th largest hydro plant in Iran. With a capacity of 102 MW, it represents 0.3% of Iran's total hydro capacity of 33,974 MW. Iran has 76 hydro plants with a combined capacity of 33,974 MW. Compared to the largest hydro plant in Iran, Shahid Abbaspuor at 2,000 MW, Khudafarin is approximately one-fifteenth the size. Hydropower is a significant part of Iran's energy mix, accounting for around 10% of the country's electricity generation. The Khudafarin plant utilizes the region's river systems, which are essential for sustainable energy production. It is located in the northwest of Iran, approximately 300 km from Tabriz.
