Hyundai Motor Group Launches AllDayEnergy, Its Global V2X Service

Hyundai Motor Group has launched its new global Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) energy service. The AllDayEnergy brand aims to unify the group's existing V2X services under a single global identity, providing customers with a consistent and reliable experience across different markets and service types.

The AllDayEnergy service will initially cover V1G smart charging, with Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) and Vehicle-to-Home (V2H) services to be added later. The group plans to launch the AllDayEnergy service in the UK through the Kia App in the second quarter of 2026, with expansion to Europe, the US, and Korea planned.

Woong Tae Hwang, Executive Vice President and Head of the EV Energy Strategy Group at Hyundai Motor Group, said, "When we launch the AllDayEnergy service through the Kia App later this year, we will take a significant step towards establishing our identity as a smart energy service provider. We will continue to expand the AllDayEnergy service globally, enabling customers to optimize their energy usage, reduce energy costs, and contribute to grid sustainability."

AllDayEnergy is the group's unified global service that connects electric vehicle (EV) batteries with homes and electricity grids. V2X technology enables bidirectional energy flow between an electric vehicle and the grid, allowing an EV to act as a mobile energy storage system, rather than just consuming energy by charging.

Customers will be able to charge their vehicles when electricity costs are lower, then use the stored energy as needed or supply it to an external system. Depending on the market and service type, this can help customers manage their charging costs, support their home energy needs, and participate in energy programs offered by electricity companies.

Unifying the service under the AllDayEnergy name will help the group create a common experience across its global V2X portfolio. AllDayEnergy will bring together several types of energy services:

The group has already developed and operated V2X services in several regions. In Korea, the group is testing V2G technology in Jeju Special Self-Governing Province. In the US, it has rolled out V2H services that provide backup power to the electricity grid during emergencies. In the Netherlands, it offers V2G and smart charging services that optimize vehicle charging in response to dynamic electricity prices.

AllDayEnergy services will be integrated into Hyundai Motor and Kia's vehicle apps. Initially, the service will be launched through the Kia App in the UK and will be added later this year. The group plans to expand the service to additional markets.

The AllDayEnergy name reflects the group's vision to make smart energy management a part of customers' daily lives and advance its transformation into a smart energy solutions provider.
