Imboulou— 120 MW Hydroelectric
Imboulou is a 120 MW hydroelectric power plant located in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, operated by Société National d'Electricité (SNE) and commissioned in 2011. This facility generates electricity through hydro power, contributing to the country's renewable energy capacity. Imboulou ranks as the 5th largest hydro plant in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. With a capacity of 120 MW, it represents 3.98% of the country's total hydro capacity of 3,019 MW. The Democratic Republic of the Congo has 13 hydro plants with a combined capacity of 3,019 MW. Compared to the largest hydro plant, Inga II at 1,775 MW, Imboulou is approximately 6.7% the size.
