It ranks as the 60th largest hydro plant in Vietnam. With a capacity of 108 MW, it accounts for 0.31% of the country's total hydroelectric capacity of 34,440 MW. Vietnam has 230 hydro plants with a combined capacity of 34,440 MW. In comparison, the largest hydro plant, Nhà máy thủy điện Sơn La at 2,400 MW, is more than twenty times the size of Sê San 3A.
