Offshore Windpark Egmond aan Zee is a 108 MW wind power plant located in the Netherlands. Operated by NoordzeeWind B.V., it was commissioned in 2007 and contributes to the growing renewable energy sector in the country. This facility ranks as the 12th largest wind plant in the Netherlands. With a capacity of 108 MW, it represents 2.84% of the country's total wind capacity of 3,799 MW. The Netherlands has a total of 253 power plants with a combined capacity of 42,922 MW. Compared to the largest wind plant, Gemini at 600 MW, Offshore Windpark Egmond aan Zee is approximately one-sixth the size. Wind energy is increasingly important in the Netherlands' energy mix, providing a substantial share of renewable electricity. The country's coastal geography and favorable wind conditions support the development of offshore wind farms. The plant is located approximately 30 km off the coast of Egmond aan Zee in North Holland.
