Jabana 1 is a 7.8 MW oil power plant in Rwanda, operated by Rwanda Energy Group Limited since its commissioning in 2005. It is one of only two oil plants in the country. Ranked #2 of 2 oil plants in Rwanda, Jabana 1's 7.8 MW accounts for 28.06% of Rwanda's total oil capacity of 28 MW. The largest oil plant in Rwanda is Jabana 2 at 20 MW, making Jabana 1 2.56 times smaller. Nearby plants within 50 km include Nyabarongo I (28 MW, Hydro), Jabana 2 (20 MW, Oil), and Mukungwa (12 MW, Hydro). The facility is located near Kigali, approximately 15 km northwest of the capital.
