Iran's energy and power generation sector is a vital component of its economy, characterized by a diverse range of energy sources and a significant installed generation capacity. Despite the presence of renewable sources, such as solar energy from eight plants contributing a mere 0.1 GW, the dominance of fossil fuels remains a defining characteristic of Iran’s power generation landscape.
