Bukit Panggal CCGT Power Station Brunei is a 110 MW gas-fired power plant located in Brunei Darussalam. It is operated by an undisclosed entity and is one of four gas plants in the country. This plant ranks as the 3rd largest gas facility in Brunei, which has a total gas generation capacity of 586 MW from four plants. Bukit Panggal represents approximately 18.77% of the country’s total gas capacity. In comparison, the largest gas plant, Lumut Cogen Power Station, has a capacity of 246 MW, making Bukit Panggal about 45% the size of this facility. Natural gas is the primary fuel source for electricity generation in Brunei, reflecting the country's abundant natural gas reserves. This resource plays a vital role in meeting the energy needs of the nation. The plant is located approximately 30 km from the capital city, Bandar Seri Begawan, in the Brunei-Muara District.

Gas power generation is a significant component of the global energy landscape, characterized by the use of natural gas to produce electricity. This process typically involves either gas turbines or combined cycle gas plants. In a gas turbine, compressed air is mixed with natural gas and ignited, producing high-temperature exhaust gases that spin a turbine connected to a generator. Combined cycle plants enhance efficiency by utilizing both gas and steam turbines. After the gas turbine generates electricity, the waste heat is used to produce steam, which drives a steam turbine, thereby maximizing energy extraction from the fuel.
