Summit Barisal 110MW is a 110 MW gas-fired power plant located in Barisal, Bangladesh, operated by Summit Corporation Limited. This facility contributes to the gas power generation landscape of the country. It is the 16th largest gas plant in Bangladesh. With 110 MW, it represents 1.25% of Bangladesh's total gas capacity of 8,767 MW. The country has 27 gas plants with a combined capacity of 8,767 MW. Compared to the largest gas plant, Ashuganj (Aggreko) at 1,649 MW, this facility is about one-sixteenth the size. Gas plays a vital role in Bangladesh's energy mix, providing around 60% of the country's electricity generation. The reliance on natural gas is driven by the country's domestic production and infrastructure. The plant is located approximately 150 km south of Dhaka in the southern region of Bangladesh.
